PRESENTERS :
Martin Pumera
Martin Pumera is the Director of the Center for the Advanced Functional Nanorobots and a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, and Chief Investigator of Future Energy & Innovation Lab at CEITEC, Brno, Czech Republic. He received his Ph.D. at Charles University, Czech Republic, in 2001.After two postdoctoral stays (in the United States and Spain), he became a tenured group leader at the National Institute for Materials Science, Japan, in 2006. In 2010 Martin joined Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he worked as a tenured associate professor for almost a decade.
Daniel Staemmler
Dr. Daniel Staemmler works in Elsevier’s Berlin office in Germany managing a portfolio of materials engineering journals, which includes the Acta Materialia journals, a number of other well-established materials engineering journals and HardwareX.After finishing his Ph.D. researching cognitive styles and interactive online learning environments at the University of Hamburg, Daniel moved to San Francisco. He worked for Shanti's L.I.F.E. Institute (Learning Immune Function Enhancement) as their Manager of Research and Internet Services. On returning to Germany, Daniel worked for Bertelsmann at their educational start-up scoyo, an online learning platform for school children. Followed by positions at the German Institute of Continuing Education for Technologists and Analysts in Medicine (DIW-MTA e.V.) and Quadriga University of Applied Sciences, before joining Elsevier in 2015.
